Two things in life are certain, we are born, and we die. We spend quite a lot of time talking about being born, celebrating it but rarely do we talk about the end of life. In With The End in Mind Dr Kathryn Mannix talks about the end of life with ease, a calmness and clarity that provides a fresh and welcome approach.

I first read this book when it came out in hardback in December 2017, now due for publication on February 7 I found comfort and peace reading it.

Using stories from her forty-year career she shows how as a society we can and should deal differently with this one certainty. Each chapter is a story about a different person as they face the end and their story as well as Kathryn’s thoughts and views are inspiring.

An amazing book telling death as it is. Not as morbid or depressing as you might imagine but in many ways an uplifting and calming read. A book that you could keep and use time and time again and give to friends and family.
